Yuhei Kikukawa, the fourth-generation owner of Nakasho Shoten, is also a man who aims to be the world's best eel maker. With the discerning eye he developed at Nakasho Shoten, he personally searches for all ingredients and only trusts those he is convinced of with his own eyes.
It is a well-known fact that his curiosity for ingredients knows no bounds.
The fourth-generation head of the family, Kikukawa Yuhei, has no shortage of anecdotes about his heroic deeds.

Yuhei KikukawaAnecdote
The search for ingredients is not limited to within Japan.
This man's search for ingredients is not limited to Japan.
If he hears that there are good quality sea urchins or whales, he will go all the way to Iceland, and if he hears that there is a good source of charcoal, he will go all the way to Laos.

A man receives a direct call from a hunter.
I think he's the only man who receives direct phone calls from game hunters.
Rumor has it that his ability to instantly determine what is good and what is not is overwhelming.

For those who care for me.
His gratitude and passion for people is incredible, and I was blown away by the fact that he is even planning to open a members-only snack bar for those who have helped him.

A rare, upstanding man of the Showa era.
It is said that drinking parties are the culmination of communication, and Kikukawa Yuhei the fourth is a rare example of a Showa-era, upstanding man in this day and age.

It's still going on.

Greetings
As the fourth generation owner of Nakasho Shoten Co., Ltd., which has been in the food wholesale business for over 90 years since its founding, we have delivered carefully selected, top-quality ingredients to many customers. Our mission has been to provide high-quality ingredients to as many restaurants as possible, and in order to deliver this high-quality food to even more people, we founded Passion Geeks Co., Ltd. in 2017, which operates restaurants that mainly use our own ingredients.
Japanese ingredients are undoubtedly among the best in the world. One of the factors that makes Japanese ingredients "Japanese food" is the way of thinking and discipline towards ingredients. I would like people all over the world to experience the wonders of Japanese food, including this. No matter how hard I try, I cannot achieve this on my own to expand the global reach of Japanese food. However, that does not mean that it is enough to simply gather people and form an organization.
An organization is, after all, a collection of individuals. Everyone must share the same vision, and each individual must have a sense of ownership and say, "I'm going to make a change." Only then will the group become strong and be able to achieve its goals. I want to continue providing a place where each individual can grow. Diversity will become an even more important concept in human society going forward. We must work with people from many countries, come into contact with different cultures, and adopt diverse values. I am confident that by aiming for global expansion, all members of the company will absorb these ideas and create a chemical reaction, which will lead to a unique and strong group.
Finally, I believe that being an entrepreneur means forging a path with your own beliefs and continuing to seek out allies. Although I am the representative, I do not consider myself the most important person in the organization. You must be as passionate about people as you are about your own beliefs. If you even slightly think you could get passionate about it together with me, please read on.
